Pain Management

Your pet feels pain in the same ways that you do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. Since 2006, Dr. Ritter attends an annual Pain Management Seminar learning various treatments for surgical pain and chronic pain in pets. Pain management is especially important as our pets age, as many signs of an aging pet are associated with pain.

Laser Therapy

Riverside Animal Hospital uses K-Laser therapy laser, a cold laser technology, to stimulate body tissues to heal and reduce pain. This treatment works well with pets with chronic arthritis. It is a great supplement to pain medications, often reducing the needed dose of medications. Laser therapy is also used to aid in wound healing. We use it after each surgery to promote healing of the surgery sites.
